Dr. Susannah R. Payne is coming to us with a rich background including private practice in Seattle, WA for two years, followed by a residency in Advanced General Dentistry for two years at UT Dentistry San Antonio. Dr. Payne graduated from UT Dentistry San Antonio in 2015 with awards for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry, Quintessence Awards for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics, Esthetic Dentistry Award, Best of the Best Prosthodontic Award, and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society. She is also an alumna of The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and graduated from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio circa 2005.
In addition to her general dentistry skills, she will bring advanced procedures to the office; including implants, gum tissue grafts, wisdom teeth extractions, and hybrid all-on four procedures; root treatments with microscope including complex root canals; Botox for treatment of TMD, myofascial pain, and oral esthetics; and experience in sedation dentistry including IV, oral, and nitrous oxide routes of administration.
In her free time, Dr. Payne enjoys baking challah and brioche, running along the Mission Reach Trail, yoga, weightlifting, and reading science fiction. She was recently appointed as an attending faculty in the post-graduate department at UT Dentistry and continues her educational pursuits as a part of the prestigious Seattle Study Club.
Dr. Payne graduated with honors at UT Dental School. He has been in practice in San Antonio, TX since 1978. In addition to private practice, Dr Payne has been teaching as an Associate Clinical Professor in Comprehensive Dentistry Department at the UT Dental School since 1981. He is a member of the San Antonio District Dental Society & American Dental Association.
Dr. Payne and his wife Debbie have three daughters and 6 grandsons. His middle daughter is a proud partner at HEB. The eldest daughter is a local artist from San Antonio and her work can be found at www.kendallpape.com and we thank her for her contribution to our homepage.
When not in the office, Dr. Payne enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities: golf, hunting & fishing.
